Our charities
Cambridge Children's Hospital
A shared vision for the future – Cambridge Children’s Hospital will be a new Children’s Hospital for the East of England, currently the only region in the UK without a dedicated children’s hospital. The hospital will be the first in the world to integrate mental and physical healthcare, underpinned by world leading research, and will have a life-changing impact on millions of children and young people regionally, nationally and globally. A unique collaboration between the NHS – Cambridge University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust – and the University of Cambridge, the hospital will bring together unrivalled clinical and academic knowledge. It will treat the 1.5 million children and young people in the East of England in a whole new way. The UK Government has committed £100m to the project, but the Hospital needs to match this with £100m in philanthropy and fundraising to build a state-of-the-art hospital. A joint fundraising campaign with Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust, the University of Cambridge and Head to Toe charity, was announced in March 2021. National Horseracing Museum
The National Horseracing Museum is Newmarket is tremendously proud to once again be supporting Presents Galore, East Anglia’s biggest Christmas Fair. We are also incredibly honoured to be able to contribute to the fundraising efforts of the new Cambridge Children’s Hospital. Based in the heart of Newmarket, the long-established home of flat racing, the National Horseracing Museum is an important part of the horseracing industry. As well as telling the story of horseracing from its earliest origins to the global phenomenon it is today, the museum contains stunning works of art, contemporary sculptures, science and breeding galleries, and some of the world’s most famous racing trophies and unique bronzes and artefacts. Part of the museum is based in the former sporting palace of King Charles II, built over 350 years ago when the ‘Sport of Kings’ was in its infancy. Using the latest interactive and audio-visual displays, the museum takes a different look at the sport, examining the physical attributes of the elite equine athlete and the importance of the thoroughbred pedigree via our science gallery. We also re-train retired racehorses in the Rothschild Yard, making NHRM one of the very few places in Newmarket where you can meet retired racehorses and there are daily tours too. Newmarket Charitable Foundation
The Newmarket Charitable Foundation was formed with a simple vision – to help create a thriving Newmarket for the whole community.
