Sooki Twist

Having run a joint venture in India over a number of years, Richard was fortunate to see much of India. I joined him on occasion and we have since spent time traveling there. We love the colour, the chaos, and the people. The cities are vibrant and an assault on all of the senses; something unexpected around every corner.

We have both always had a bit of a thing for a fabulous scarf and so wowed were we by the fabrics and craftsmanship, we decided to take our passion further and turn it into a business. Of course, there is shocking poverty in India so we knew we had to make a difference however small by selecting only from conscious producers.

Our scarves, shawls and wraps, combined with their exceptional eco credentials, are so beautiful you will want to keep them forever. With every item you own, youโ€™ll not only be enriching your life and wardrobe with a quality and distinctive piece, you will also be enriching the lives of those who handcraft these items, providing a better quality of life for them and their families.

Most of our pieces are handmade from start to finish and many are completely individual โ€˜one of a kindโ€™. They are created by artisans using skills and traditions passed down through generations, weaving stories into their scarves and shawls in the process. The finest natural materials are used and the most meticulous of stitch work sewn, often taking days, weeks or longer to create. Keeping up demand for such handiwork will ensure the livelihood of many for years to come.

Some pieces are bold and contemporary, others more traditional, but all are timeless works of art. They can be worn at any time, adding splashes of colour and pattern to lift an outfit. They may be perfectly imperfect but that is part of their charm and proof of their provenance.
