My name is Anna Joan and I am a professional animal portrait artist specialising in drawing Suffolk’s wildlife and bespoke pet portraits using only premium coloured pencils as my medium. I am a native to Bury St Edmunds, a historic market town surrounded by the stunning landscape Suffolk has to offer. It boasts huge skies, flatlands, forests and a variety of beautiful wildlife, my favourite of which being its rabbits and hares.
I also hold the title for the East of England’s Young Trader of the Year for 2024.
My art journey began during the COVID-19 lockdown where I drew my first pet portrait for my grandmother, and as more and more people saw the portrait, it ultimately kick-started my endeavour into working as a professional artist. Throughout 2020-2023 I continued drawing portraits while simultaneously studying for my bachelors in Classical Studies. Now that I have graduated, I am excited for the next phase of my art journey and what the future years will bring. At my stall you will find some Christmas cards – including my popular Krampus card -, greeting cards, framed and mounted prints and framed originals for sale. You also see some new wildlife prints from my new collection I am currently working on!
