The Bella Voce Choir from St Mary’s Junior School
We are looking forward to having The Bella Voce Choir from St Mary’s Junior School join us for the Celebrations.
St Mary’s School, Cambridge is a day and boarding school for girls from Pre-school through to A-level, located in the heart of Cambridge. The music department is very strong across the whole school and the Junior School specifically offers 6 different choirs, and many instrumental ensembles, who are currently all getting ready for their annual Christmas Concert in a few weeks.
The choir we have performing for us is their auditioned Year 5 and 6 choir called Bella Voce. These girls rehearse together weekly and are very excited to perform for you and help spread some Christmas cheer. The girls recently performed at the Grand Arcade in Cambridge city center to help with the Switching on of the Lights celebrations and they are looking forward to caroling at a local retirement village soon, as well as their performance at Presents Galore on Saturday at 11am.
The Hummingbird Quartet
Formed in early 2025, The Hummingbird Quartet is made up of members of the Newmarket Chamber Orchestra and has recently performed at Ely Cathedral and the Ely Music Festival.
First violinist Ellie is a Trinity College of Music graduate who has performed with the English Symphony Orchestra and in London pit orchestras. Jan, on second violin, began playing at 15 and quickly found herself performing alongside musicians who later became leaders of major orchestras.
Sophie, violist, moved from violin to viola at age 12 and has since performed in venues ranging from the Konzerthaus Berlin to St David’s Hall and even Disneyland Paris. Nicola, cellist, chose the cello at age 8 after being inspired by a Paul Tortelier concert—a decision that shaped her musical path.
The Hummingbird Quartet are passionate about performing fun, accessible music and will appear at Presents Galore on Friday evening.

Returning for 2025, Serena Grant will be performing at 11am and 1pm on Sunday.
